Event templates let you save event configurations for reuse. Create events from templates with a single click, or set up recurring schedules for automatic event creation. This is useful for events such as weekly play tournaments or Nexus Nights that occur on a regular basis with the same base settings.
An event template will preserve the game & format, event settings, tournament structure, and round settings from the source event.
For basic steps to create an event from scratch, see the Lorcana – Create & Run a Swiss Tournament Event and Riftbound – Create and Run a Swiss Tournament Event guides.
Creating an Event Template
To create an Event Template on the Admin Dashboard:
Navigate to Events tab and open an event
Click the three dots (...) on the right-hand side of the Event Details tab
Click Save as Template
Enter the Template Name, Description, and the Event Name Pattern:
The Event Name Pattern will determine how the event name is formatted when new events are created from this template using the place placeholders {date}, {store},{format}, {day}.
For example, inputting {day} {store} {format} {date} would generate the name "Thursday Game Store Core Constructed January 1, 2025" for an event created on that date.
