Player Infractions & Penalties

Enabling and assigning player infractions and penalties.

Set the Rules Enforcement Level

Once an event has been created, the Rules Enforcement Level (REL) must be set in order to apply infractions during the event. This can be enabled or changed during the event as well.

To enable this setting:

  1. Open the event in the Admin Dashboard

  2. In the Event Details tab, locate the Gameplay Format & Rules Enforcement section

  3. Under Rules Enforcement Level, select the appropriate option (i.e. Casual or Competitive)

The available Rules Enforcement Levels are set by each publisher for their specific games, so these options may vary depending on which game the event is running and whether the publisher has set a specific REL for certain event templates or formats.

Assign a Player Infraction and Penalty

  1. Open the Pairings tab of an ongoing event

  2. Under the Actions column, click the hammer icon

3. In the Player Infractions module, select one or both players at the table

4. Select the infraction to populate the penalty

5. Input any Additional Details for the infraction, such as a Time Extensions or a Note

View Player Infraction Details

Applied infractions and penalties will appear in the Interactions column in the Pairings tab.

To enable the Interactions column:

  1. Navigate to the Pairings tab

  2. Click the Columns drop-down

  3. Select Interactions

To view the infraction details and any related notes, click on the penalty flag (i.e. Warning, Match Loss, etc.) in the Interactions column.

The Infraction Details pop-up will include:

  • Player name

  • Player email

  • Infraction

  • Penalty

  • Round

  • Issued by

  • Issued at

  • Notes

  • Infraction History – Infraction, Lifetime, This Event, 3 Months, 6 Months

Notes

Applying a Disqualified penalty to a player does not automatically eliminate them from the event. They can be manually removed by selecting Dropped from the Registration column.

Similarly, applying a Match Loss penalty to a player does not automatically populate a loss for that player. That can be manually entered by the Tournament Organizer in the Result column.
